Autumn Retreat - March 2022 L2.1 Breath and Spirit: healing trauma and addiction
For me, these retreats are the experience of living in sacred space, while totally accepting our human-ness. It is my privilege, as a facilitator to midwife the unfolding of each individual. Following is some of what the participants have said:
What aspects of the retreat did you find particularly valuable?
Margi: discussions, written work – truth tracking etc – was a lot more accessible this time. Greater clarity re emotional blocks arose more easily and faster
Sarina: the quality of the breathwork sessions. The volumes of information to dive into outside the sessions
Ryan: the translations of grief and how breath can heal and create the possibility to move through major blockages and trauma
Emily: every single aspect of the workshop has been so well thought out and felt into. Ann’s years of experience cannot be replaced.

General Comments
Margi: Such a loving safe space to drop deeply in to emotional areas not normally accessed, making way for clearing energetic blocks. I always feel more alive and ready to face normal life and life’s challenges with new lightness of being, that comes from awareness and release of old deep emotional burdens
Sarina: Ann’s gentle, powerful style of teaching has allowed the unfolding of some old patterns and created a surprising healing in the most profound way

Spring Retreat - 2020 Level 1.1 Foundations: return to wholeness

“Breathwork is a simple practice of focused breathing in different ways in a comfortable safe environment, that may include meditation, music, or may start with some dancing or movement before the focus on the breath. It is a simple portable tool that you can practice individually, in pairs or in a group, with each scenario likely to create an experience that is unique to each individual and each practice.
Breathwork for me has been a profound experience that in many cases has led to very physical responses in my body, simply through the act of breathing in an out. As someone who has spent a large portion of life trying to be in control, this physical response was initially a little uncomfortable, difficult to comprehend but fascinating at the same time. With increased experience Breathwork has been a tool that has helped me gain more clarity over old hurtful experiences I had already been aware of, as well as other painful events that were not present to my conscious mind. With this information, I can then start to employ new tools to help me work towards creating a life more in line with my desires rather than a life filtered and influenced by my old experiences.
My Breathwork experiences are not always revealing past hurts, but have also included joy and contentment, and helped me improve the awareness of my own thoughts and feelings and the things that are important to me in life. It is a different experience than simply thinking things through, as your thoughts can be influenced by meeting expectations of others or unhelpful rules you have created in your life. Breathwork allows you to find the key elements holding you back, and those that things you desire for your future, by knowing yourself more deeply and incorporating all parts of yourself rather than being driven by the mind. Initially it takes some courage but once you see the benefits breathwork brings your enthusiasm will take hold and drive you to incorporate this simple and life changing process in your own operating manual.”
